AtLAS BodyTalk Gym and Tennis Courts Reopening

(from the email sent to all AtLAS members on Friday 2 April)

The government’s roadmap for reducing COVID-19 restrictions in England should move to its next step from Monday 12 April, meaning we’ll be able to welcome you back to the BodyTalk Gym at Adastral Park from then. We’re also reopening the outdoor tennis courts from Tuesday 6 April.

All of the rules are either legal requirements and/or BT safety and site management requirements. We’ll let you know as/when they change. For now you’ll need to book a time slot for both the gym and tennis courts.

If your subscription payments were already started (towards the end of 2020) and you now want to use the gym or tennis courts, you’ll be able to access the AtLAS online booking system at atlasleisure.sportsoft.co.uk to book time slots. Your membership was paused from 26 December and will now been activated again. If you paid on 28 December, no further payment will be taken until 28 May, as you have a month in credit.

If we haven’t already restarted your membership and subscription payments and you now want to use the gym or tennis courts, you’ll need to contact us to restart – details are below.

Gym

The same rules and procedures as last autumn/winter are in place. The Gym will open from Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) from Monday 12 April. To be allowed on-site and in the gym you’ll need to:

  • Reactivate your AtLAS Silver Membership if needed. Contact our AtLAS Administrator to request this. Your subscriptions will then restart.
  • Book a time slot (session), when your membership is reactivated. This is to make sure we don’t exceed the maximum number allowed in the gym under the social distancing rules. You need to make your booking by 14:00 the day before you want to use the gym; before 14:00 on Friday for Monday bookings. Bookings can be made well in advance though. Bookings are made via the AtLAS online booking system at atlasleisure.sportsoft.co.uk NOT via the AtLAS website atlasleisure.org.uk.
  • Collect a Site Pass – AtLAS site passes are not currently valid. Unless you have an employee pass, you will need to collect a daily visitors site pass from the main reception for every visit.

The gym booking sheet will be sent to Adastral Park Reception at 14:00 the day before your booking (by 14:00 on Friday for the following Monday). If you’re not on the list (= you’ve not booked a time slot), you won’t get a site pass and won’t be allowed on-site. Don’t waste a journey – please make sure you’re booked in well in advance!

The gym changing rooms/toilets/shower are closed. The only wash-basins and toilets available will be those in the Reception building.

Please read these guides for further help and details:

Tennis Courts

We’re pleased to be able to open the outdoor tennis courts again from Tuesday 6 April.

Like the gym there’ll be rules and procedures in place, for you to be allowed on-site and to use the tennis courts. For now the Tennis courts will be open weekdays only (excluding Public Holidays) for hourly sessions, from 08:00 to 18:00 and there’ll only be one court available in the double court area.

To book/play you’ll need to:

  • Reactivate your AtLAS Bronze or Silver Membership if needed. Contact our AtLAS Administrator to request this. Your subscriptions will then restart.
  • Book a time slot (session), when your membership is reactivated. You need to make your booking by 13:00 the day before you want to use the courts; before 13:00 on Friday for Monday bookings. Bookings can be made well in advance though. Bookings are made via the AtLAS online booking system at atlasleisure.sportsoft.co.uk NOT via the AtLAS website atlasleisure.org.uk.
  • Note: Bookings are for 1 hour sessions. There’ll be 30 minute gaps between sessions. The last session will be 17:00 to 18:00.
  • Provide Player List to AtLAS for *ALL* your players – send a player list to our AtLAS Administrator at the same time as you make the booking. The list will be used to issue Site Passes to anyone who does not have an employee pass – see below – and may also be used for NHS Test & Trace if needed.
  • Collect Site Passes (all players as needed) from Reception – AtLAS site passes are not currently valid. Unless you and/or the other players have an employee pass, you/they will need to collect a daily visitors site pass from the main reception for every visit.
  • Collect/sign-out padlock key from Gatehouse. Both court areas are currently padlocked. Only you – as the member who booked – can collect/sign-out the key for your court.
  • Lock court area and return padlock key to Gatehouse promptly, when your session is ended. Please make sure you return the key to the Gatehouse within 15 minutes of the end of your session, so it’s available for the next session.

The tennis court booking sheet will be sent to Adastral Park Reception at 13:00 the day before (13:00 on Friday for the following Monday). If you’re not on the list (= you’ve not booked a time slot), you won’t get a site pass and won’t be allowed on-site. If you haven’t sent a list of the other players, they won’t get a site pass and won’t be allowed on-site, unless they have an employee pass. Don’t waste journeys – please make sure you’re booked in well in advance!

Playing rules:

  • Use the hand sanitiser gel provided on the court fence before, during and after your session.
  • Keep socially distanced; do not touch your face during play.
  • 4 players maximum per court; no spectators in the court area.
  • Return any tennis balls with your foot or racquet.
  • Avoid touching gate or latch – operate gates with your foot or racquet.
  • Avoid touching nets – alert AtLAS or Tennis Club if adjustment needed.

The AtLAS clubhouse with changing rooms/toilets/shower is closed and locked. The only wash-basins and toilets available will be those in the Reception building.

Different rules will apply for Tennis Club matches, as they’ll be a supervised organised activity.
