Spinning, which involves using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting, is a form of exercise which focuses on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity and recovery.

About Us

Climb the hills, ride the roads or time trial across the flats.

These indoor group classes are instructor led and held in the Gym Fitness Studio on Tuesday lunchtimes. We aim to help you to become stronger, fitter and faster on a bike. Every session is an intense cardio workout with upbeat music playlists to keep you motivated for the hour session.

All our classes are open to people of all ages and fitness abilities, provided they are an AtLAS silver member.


Each class is £3.00. You must be an AtLAS silver member to join the classes. You will need to speak to the instructor, Mary Russell on the method of payment for the classes.

  • You need to go onto the Atlas Booking System.
  • Choose the 'login' option in the top right corner and use your username and password.
  • Once logged in go to 'booking' > 'activity booking'.
  • Ensure the 'type' drop down is set to 'class', select 'spinning' for the 'class' dropdown option and then select the date of the class and choose 'search'.
  • If a bike is available it will come up with the option to book.
  • Select book, then checkout.
  • Once checked out an email conformation of the booking will be sent to you.
