The AtLAS Karate Club runs two classes every week, from 18:00 – 19:30 on Wednesday in the Adastral Park Sports Hall and 18:00 – 19:00 on Friday in the AtLAS Gym Studio. The Wednesday session concentrates on the Technical and Defensive aspects of Karate, whilst the Friday session is more Freestyle Focus.
The club put emphasis on personal development. Adults and children train together. This is good for families and children learn to interact with adults with manners and mutual respect. Both adults and children grow in confidence when they realise what they can do and we train and have fun as well.
Our black belts have a wealth of experience and we regularly apply it to self-defence scenarios to show its relevance in self-protection. One of our instructors is a qualified self-defence instructor with the British Combat Association.
All you need to get started is some loose fitting trousers (e.g. tracksuit bottoms) and an old t-shirt, we normally train in bare feet, but you can wear trainers to begin with.
Why not come along and give it a try or watch one of our sessions, please feel free to contact any of the people below if you would like to know more.?
First sessions are free and without any obligation.
